Our Roots in Conservation
There are 45 conservation districts in the state of Washington State. Conservation Districts were born out of the dustbowl era when there was environmental crisis. Severe drought coupled with poor land management practices caused massive dust storms, destroying crops and displacing families. There was an urgent need to protect our soil and water thus, Conservation Districts were born.
