Board of Supervisors Elections and Appointments

District Information

Each Conservation District in Washington is governed by a five-member board, referred to as “supervisors.” Three supervisors are elected by registered voters in the district. Two are appointed by the State Conservation Commission. As dictated by state statute, at least two of the elected and one of the appointed supervisors must own land or operate a farm in the district. The term of office is three years, and supervisors serve without compensation. State statute also requires conservation district elections to be held in the first quarter of the calendar year.

About the Elected Supervisor Position

Interested in running for a position on CCD’s board of supervisors?

Meet the 2024 Candidates

Candidate Lori Delorm

Candidate Lori DeLorm

My name is Lori DeLorm and I would like to submit my candidacy for the elected position on the Clallam Conservation District (CCD) board of Supervisors. I am a Sequim native and proud member of Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe (JST). I have worked as a water quality specialist for the JST for 25 years. Throughout these years I have worked on a range of projects: irrigation, water quality, habitat and restoration. These projects would not be possible without the interest and support of the public and private landowners. It has been a pleasure to work with landowners that have the common goal of conservation and preservation of our natural resources. I have worked alongside CCD staff on many projects within Clallam County. During my 25 years of service to JST and Clallam County there have been many success stories in this great community we all share.

If elected, this will be my second term on the CCD board, I have strong commitment and devotion to the CCD and our community. I hope to continue to serve and be a valuable member of the CCD board of supervisors. Thank you.

Candidate Judy May Larson

Due to eldercare needs and my minimalist, frugal lifestyle, I retired “early.”  (Past professional roles have included being a teacher, a chemist and a health & safety inspector in both private and public settings.)

My academic background includes receiving a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago, a Masters from Johns Hopkins and pursuing numerous non-degree studies at various institutions.

Dean Young (my life partner of 39 years) and I moved to Sequim in 1993.  While needing to focus on eldercare responsibilities, I have been able to be an active member of our NOP community by providing volunteer efforts over my many years here: as a docent for Feiro MLC; as a VISTA volunteer for disaster preparedness; and as a trainer for CC-EM and our local American Red Cross.  I have enjoyed singing as a Sweet Adeline and remain a Board Member of Protect the Peninsula’s Future –serving for several years as its delegate and alternate on the Dungeness River Management Team.

I continue to have an abiding interest in protecting and preserving the quality of life of our environs and believe I can make a contribution to the important mission of our Conservation District.
